STAY-IN-FEST 2021: A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS confirmed! Exclusive recorded set from the USA!

Infest likes to throw the odd curve ball…
We are very excited that A Place To Bury Strangers will be joining us, with a set exclusively recorded for STAY-IN-FEST, all the way from NYC…

“The Motorhead of shoegaze is, certainly A Place To Bury Strangers. Like their predecessors, Jesus and Mary Chain or Lou Reed, they take their love of pretty melodies mangled through aggressive use of guitars, very seriously” (Alt77)

They have opened for Nine Inch Nails in the USA and received strong praise from the British media including NME and Kerrang!

While there are obvious reference points such as Pornography-era Cure, early Ride, My Bloody Valentine, and pre-1990s Jesus and Mary Chain, the sound is all their own. The APTBS team is a force to reckon with.

By now, anyone even vaguely aware of A Place to Bury Strangers is well aware of their “loudest band in New York” moniker, and it’s certainly a well-deserved title.  However, this isn’t noise rock for the sake of noise.  It’s a meticulously-constructed web of noise and sound that wraps around frequently strong melodies and rhythms that a lesser band would lack.  It immediately becomes obvious that each and every sound was created and constructed with the methodical touch of someone obsessed with sound and playing a heavy, atmospheric “Wall of Sound”–influenced blend of psychedelic rock, shoegaze and space rock.

The sonically overdriven sound they’ve accomplished is no clumsy accident, but a carefully cultivated and well-maintained entity all its own, fostered by an unbridled passion that’s clearly evident in every live show they play and each recording they make.

A Place To Bury Strangers does not so much play songs, as allow them to pour out. They are songs about longing, heartbreak and confusion played extremely well and at a passionately loud volume.
