Corlyx, originally from Los Angeles now living in the UK
Corlyx, originally hailing from Los Angeles now living in UK, has slowly evolved with each album they have released, pulling from 80’s post punk, 90’s grunge, and modern Dark Wave, currently signed with Out Of Line Music the duo have added a live bassist to their lineup Davide Rocco and have toured Europe, the UK and USA, opening for Blutengel, Twin Tribes, Double Echo, Unzucht, as well as Absolution Festival, Autumn Moon Festival, Plage Noire festival and many more.
Haunting vocals
Starting from an industrial Dark Electro background, the band have found themselves writing more 80’s goth inspired tracks, Together Apart released September 15th, Darkwave Post punk meets Alternative. Singer Caitlin has haunting vocals on this record with a flare to 80’s pop, and 90’s grunge. She sometimes refers to Corlyx as DEATH POP.
“I love so many different styles of dark music, our new record and current live show is a blending of everything we love, we are not just a Darkwave band or just a Post-Punk band, there’s many influences, what we can guarantee is an uptempo set, loads of energy and moodiness, we want to take you on a haunting journey through the 80’s and 90’s but louder with modern elegance” – says singer Caitlin Stokes.
Corlyx dropped their full length album “Blood In The Disco” on out November 25th 2022 on Out Of Line Music. A mash up of everything they’ve done in the past all combined on one outspoken record, the album features 12 tracks including a collaboration with Massive Ego, and Chris Harms of Lord Of The Lost, and a remix by Nero Argento.
Rave reviews
Met with rave reviews 10/10 by Angrabyte Journalism, PopMatters says “ Corlyx album Blood In The Disco isn’t just Corlyx best album yet it’s one of the best goth rock albums to emerge yet this decade”.
Since then the band has collaborated with many artists including a single with Ashbury Heights and Suzi Sabotage, and has just released their next single Ghost Of The West Coast as of January 26th 2024. They’re currently formulating a schedule of releases to launch the second record with Out Of Line in 2024.
