Witch of the Vale are Erin and Ryan, an unsettling electronic duo from the serene shores of Loch Lomond and the remote Outer Hebridean Isles.
The pair cite influences such as Cranes, Dead Can Dance, Fever Ray, and Skinny Puppy. The delicate, haunting vocals are starkly contrasted by deep, droning synths and abrasive drums.
With Erin’s sincere, melancholic lyrics, their sound is at once ethereal and devastating.
Witch of the Vale are a new act but are piquing interest quickly, receiving regular airtime on online stations such as RadioCoolio, and having made an appearance on BBC radio.

The duo made their first appearance supporting darkwave legends Clan of Xymox on their one-off UK show in Glasgow. Since then they have played frequently in the Scottish scene and made several appearances in London’s iconic venue Electrowerkz, supporting acts such as Assemblage 23, Solar Fake, Leaether Strip, and Massive Ego.
The duo are building up momentum with the release just last week of a new EP titled ‘Trust the Pain’, which is due to followed by a remix album featuring remixes from friends in the scene, including Skinjob and Leaether Strip.
