INFEST 2024 – Republica confirmed!

REPUBLICA dominated the charts, radio, MTV, press, media, films, magazines and stages worldwide from the late 90’s with their iconic, fiery frontwoman Saffron and their self dubbed ‘techno-pop, punk rock, electronica’ musical sound.

They were part of a new wave of strong female-fronted bands including Garbage, No Doubt, Elastica, Hole and Skunk Anansie during the Britpop era. Touring the UK, writing, recording, producing and mixing all their own songs, they were signed by legendary label De- Construction and by the Head of RCA in America. They toured the States relentlessly achieving huge success with their single ‘Ready To Go’ becoming a top ten US chart hit, appearing on the Conan O’Brien show and featuring in Rolling Stone magazine.

Returning to the UK and Europe where their debut album went Top 3, with appearances on Top of the Pops, TFI Friday, The Big Breakfast, This Morning etc. Headline slots followed at Glastonbury, V-Festival, Reading and Leeds, Phoenix Festival, T-In the Park, Roskilde, Rock Am Ring, Rock In Park, Pinkpop and more.

Achieving Multi Platinum sales of over 3 million albums globally, with No1’s in Mexico and Poland, Top 10s in UK, Spain, Russia, South America and the Eastern Bloc countries, they built up a huge live following with Saffron appearing in and on countless magazine covers including the Melody Maker cover four times.

Their massive hit singles ‘Ready To Go’ and ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ have appeared in over 300 films, adverts and TV series, becoming huge sports anthems. Legendary Horror movie director Wes Craven personally asked to use ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ in his movie ‘Scream’ which Republica played at the movie premiere in Hollywood. The song became and still is a huge gay anthem worldwide. Saffron has always supported the LBGTQ+ community headlining many Gay Prides every year.

‘Ready To Go’ has been featured in the Emmy award winning series ‘Yellowjackets’, ‘Ted Lasso’, ‘Cruel Summer’, Vogue / Dua Lipa film clip for New York Fashion Week, MTV’s ‘The Challenge’, ‘Cheer or Die’. Olivia Rodrigo covered it live on her Sour World Tour, plus it’s the soundtrack to a current Chevrolet Car TV Commercial in America
ITVs ‘The Voice’ launched their new series with all four judges, Tom Jones, Will.I.Am, Rita Ora and Ricky Wilson performing it:

Following the debut album’s re-release as a triple deluxe 3 CD, coloured vinyl album editions of both their hit albums were re-released for Record Store Day. ‘Speed Ballads’ was accompanied by in store acoustic sets in between their last full touring schedule.

Recent headline festival slots include Wychwood, Appfest, Weyfest, Victorious, Rebellion in Blackpool, Lakefest, Camper Calling, Isle of Wight, Midnattsrocken, Germany, Scotland, Guernsey, The Netherlands, Romania, Dubai, Bahrain, Party at the Palace, Pennfest, LetsRock, Shiine On Weekender, Butlins 90’s Weekenders, Chester & Brighton Prides and a 60,000 audience at Bristol Pride. They also headlined the special European City of Culture festival in Novi Sad in Serbia.

Saffron performed at two half times in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup last December and at Cool Britannia with the BritPop Orchestra and Back To Basics Symphonica in Leeds. More of these events are scheduled for 2024. She also took part in the Electric Ladies UK Tour with Toyah Wilcox and Lene Lovich to raise funds for their friend Hazel O’Connor who suffered a stroke.

To date ‘Ready To Go’ has 27 million views on YouTube and Republica have amassed 41 million streams on Spotify.
Saffron dueted on The Prodigy’s ‘The Fat of the Land’ album with Keith Flint on a cover of L7’s ‘Fuel my Fire’. Robert Smith from The Cure wrote a duet with her in mind ‘Just Say Yes’ which appears on The Cure’s Greatest Hits Album. She achieved a No 1 dance hit with Junkie XL / Tom Holkenborg with ‘Beauty Never Fades’ which is the theme music to the largest sci-fi gaming community EVE Online and also in The Animatrix. Also tracks with DJ Carl Cox, Andy Gray, Gary Numan, Jeff Beck, Jah Wobble and N-Joi.
During the pandemic Saffron was a critical frontline Keyworker in Mental Health and Social Care. She filmed a documentary ‘Music To Mental Health’ which was featured on BBC News, Mirror online, Daily Star and Reuters.

This year Republica appeared on the new Sky production of ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’ and Saffron was interviewed by Fearne Cotton for her BBC Radio 2 show ‘Sounds of the 90s’. They have received fantastic reviews and critical acclaim for their electric live performances from DeVolution magazine, SongFacts, Vive Le Rock and Louder Than War.

With newly signed record deal with Armalyte Records and a brand new album ‘Damaged Gods’, they’re currently filming a music video to their first single ‘New York’, due for release on 10th November followed with the Album release and more singles for 2024.
