INFEST 2024 – Mark Hex confirmed!

MARK HEX has been pestering the world and making a racket for over two decades.

Residing in his adopted hame of London, he has supported a number of luminaries over the years such as Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Section 25 and Bush Tetras (amongst other such post-punk-new-wave-no-wavers), playing at the likes of The Garage, Slimelight, Brixton Windmill and the Great Escape Festival in Brighton.

Featured at Stay-In-Fest

He is a regular Twitcher and DJs throughout London’s dark scene, especially at Depeche Mode, Morrissey and Cure specialist evenings. He is honoured to be playing INFEST this year in the flesh, after taking part in the 2020 stay-in-fest virtual festival, during the Covid pandemic.

“Mark Hex, pink guitar in hand, makes soundscapes for tales of Glasgow plucked from real life.” – Louder Than War

“Hex‘s hypnotic chants and shouts harken back to the call-and-response patterns of Sham 69 and the class war passions of The Fall, The Clash, Billy Bragg and early Public Image Ltd. Hex also cites Pornography-era The Cure, Big Black and Ministry as heavy influences. His muses are clearly channeled here, but his sensibilities are thoroughly modern. He remains an enigma” -postpunk.com
