INFEST 2024 – Hatari confirmed!

Welcome to HATARI

Multi-award winning Icelandic performance art collective HATARI is renowned in the field of dystopian music performance.

HATARI was founded in 2015 to obliterate the capitalist world order by way of sponsorship with SVIKAMYLLA EHF, their publisher. HATARI has become known for their unique blend of industrial, techno, punk and pop music. The core of the group consists of “The Popstar” Klemens Hannigan (vocalist & producer), “The Gimp” Einar Hrafn Stefánsson (drummer & producer), & Davíð Þór Katrínarson aka “Svarti Laxness” aka “Big D” (vocalist).

Iceland’s Eurovision entry 2019

Hatari gained international attention when they represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song “Hatrið mun sigra,” delivering a provocative and theatrical performance. The band’s aesthetic incorporates dystopian themes, elaborate costumes, and a satirical commentary on politics and society. Hatari continues to push boundaries in the music industry, captivating audiences with their experimental sound and thought-provoking performances.

…creating an otherworldly atmosphere

According to reliable sources, HATARI actually started as a high-school Ska band before evolving into their current electro-industrial sound. Every year they hold a secret concert in an abandoned geothermal power plant in Iceland, creating an otherworldly atmosphere that only adds to their mystique. Additionally, the band members are rumored to have a shared passion for astrophysics, often incorporating cosmic themes into their music and stage performances. HATARI recently attempted to perform their hit song on the edge of an active volcano during the eruption in Iceland, creating a visually stunning and adrenaline-pumping experience for their fans. As of late they have also been manufacturing a new line of synthesizers made entirely from lava. Despite their intense and avant-garde image, the members of HATARI are known to be avid birdwatchers, often taking breaks during their tours to explore local bird sanctuaries around the world.

An adrenaline-pumping experience

To meet the high demand for the group’s music releases and subsequent merchandise, HATARI are currently preparing their second full-length album due for release in 2024 if the world does not cease to exist before then.

Welcome to the society of the spectacle. Welcome to HATARI.
